arcenciel launched its social boutique in 2002 and has been up-cycling old clothes and selling them back since. La Boutique is present in 3 different locations: Taanayel in the Bekaa, Halba in North Lebanon, and Sad el Baouchriyé in North Beirut.
LA BOUTIQUE’S MISSION
La Boutique has two main purposes: 1) to offer affordable clothing to all people regardless of their socio-economic status 2) to reduce waste by giving new value to old pieces of clothing.
HOW IT WORKS
La Boutique has a wide variety of items to choose from. While each item has a specific tag and price, customers pay as much as they are able.
Old clothes that are donated to arcenciel are either transformed into new trendy items or, if in good condition, cleaned to be sold.
Moreover, arcenciel employs people from all walks of life to run La Boutique thus providing opportunity people with difficulties (socio-economic problems, physical or mental disabilities).
DONATIONS
We encourage people to donate unwanted clothing still in good condition, and will be setting up drop-off points across Lebanon (in schools and universities) where clothes will be collected.
All donations can be dropped off at any of our centers, anytime of the year.
